I was responsible for developing and shaping the learning and development agenda, which was aligned to strategic objectives and promoted a continuous learning culture. With my team of direct reports, we offered innovative and creative solutions to meet the needs of our customers.By building solid relationships with key stakeholders created an objective plan to identify individual, departmental and organisational people development needs. Using a blended approach of experiential learning, e-learning, classroom based sessions and 1-to-1 coaching, ensured that these needs were met.Developed and managed an annual development budget to support the overall plan, and worked with external sources to find best value solutions to maximise available funds. This includes accessing available government funding and maximising the apprenticeship levy.Supported talent management and succession planning processes to ensure that needs were identified and prioritised. By working with the Operational Board, achieved their buy in on recommendations which were then incorporated into the overall people strategy.Facilitated a variety of programmes aimed at enhancing leadership capability and behaviours and helping to embed the core values of the business.Led a team of employee representatives who act in a coaching capacity to support staff development programmes aimed at improving employee engagement and the at-work experience. This work was recognised in 2016 at the annual Food & Drink Federation awards, where the HR Director and I collected the award for winning the “Good Employer” category (link below).
