Head of Low Carbon at Scottish Enterprise, the national economic development agency, leading teams delivering Scottish Enterprise support for the growth of the Low Carbon Economy in Scotland, working closely with public and private sector partners, regionally, nationally and globally to address climate change around the theme of Climate Opportunity. My role is to engage at the highest levels with industry, government and key stakeholders in Scotland, UK and internationally to ensure SE plays a key role in positioning Scotland as a leading European location for developing and manufacturing technologies and to help shape these important contributions to the Scottish Government ambition to achieve a net zero carbon economy by 2045 through a just, fair and inclusive transition. Key areas of focus are the decarbonisation of heat, mobility, energy and energy systems. As part of the Hydro Nation programme, we are also supporting innovation in the water sector.

Lead Scottish Enterprise's support for the growth of the Energy and Low Carbon Technologies sectors in Scotland, working closely with public and private sector partners in Scotland and globally. Key elements include Oil and Gas; Offshore Renewables; Low Carbon Energy and technologies and water. Working across the sectors including: Oil and Gas, with particular focus on supply chain and decommissioning; Subsea Engineering, with an opportunity plan looking at global development and supporting increasing innovation; Energy Supply Chain Competitiveness, linked to the Manufacturing Action Plan with a focus on development and diversification into growing and emerging markets; the transition to Low Carbon Energy and increased impact of low carbon technologies, including, for example, Offshore Renewable Energy and Smart Local Energy Systems. I represent Scottish Enterprise on a number of Scottish and UK Industry bodies and groups helping to shape the future of these important contributors to the Scottish Economy.

Strategic development and delivery of trade and inward investment across the EMEA region, working closely with a broad range of colleagues, external stakeholders and partners. Initially responsible for 9 offices across the region – 6 in Europe, 2 in the Middle East and 1 in Africa. Subsequently delivered Post Brexit vote expansion to double resources and open 10 additional offices across Europe to assist Scottish businesses across multiple sectors.

Manage Scottish Enterprise / SDI sector activity in Financial and Business Services. Strategic engagement with industry, academia and government partners to develop the sector in Scotland and internationally.
