Operations Manager with responsibility for major projects in the north of England.

Brought into the company as someone with specialist structural repair experience to start and grow a new specialist repair arm to the existing ground engineering business (prior to their acquisition by Keller).

Worked for the specialist Civil Engineering Repair Division, initially as site-based project manager on technically demanding contracts including bridge jacking and bearing replacement schemes, carbon fibre strengthening schemes, large cathodic protection schemes and other specialist works, then as Contracts Manager overseeing multiple contracts.

Started with national contractor Higgs and Hill Ltd as a Graduate Engineer, working on many large construction projects in the north of England with responsibility for setting out and elements of quality control on large concrete and steel framed buildings, working my way up to Section then Senior Engineer and eventually on to Site Agent. (Higgs and Hill were subsequently acquired by BAM)

Most of my time spent drafting and detailing reinforced concrete elements (pen and ink in those days as well, none of your easy AutoCAD !!). Also responsible for producing the resulting bar bending schedules.(When Curtins was W. G. Curtin & Partners)
