Assistant Director, Specialist Services

A senior manager within the Standards & Technical Division, reporting to the Technical Director. The division provides guidance, support and monitoring to ensure that the Audit Practice complies with professional standards. Responsibility for managing the quality monitoring programme for the Audit Practice, including organising and undertaking quality monitoring visits; assessment of audit outputs, assessment of performance and inspection work and liaison with external reviewers such as ACCA, QAD and the AIU. Providing assurance on the quality of the practice’s audit work, including compliance with professional standards, the Code and other professional requirements.Developing professional guidance, training and advice, and providing support services to auditors, to ensure so far as possible a consistent approach across the regime. Contributing to and articulating the Commission’s views on professional and technical issues, working with the Commission’s partners and stakeholders, and the wider accountancy profession.
