I am the Artistic Director, percussionist, and co-founder of The Living Earth Show. I am also the music director for San Francisco-based dance company Post:Ballet, drummer and co-founder of queer nü-metal collective COMMANDO, a touring soloist, and an endorsing artist for Spaun Drums and Innovative Percussion. Called “outstanding” by the San Francisco Chronicle, “transcendent” by the Charleston City Paper, and “insanely good at their instruments” by WQXR, The Living Earth Show is a megaphone and canvas for some of the world’s most progressive artists. One of the premiere contemporary chamber arts ensembles in the United States, The Living Earth Show received the grand prize in the SAVVY Chamber Arts Competition and runner-up in the open division of the M-Prize Chamber Arts Competition, has commissioned and premiered over 60 new works by some of the most vital composers in the world, and released three critically acclaimed albums, presents annual seasons in San Francisco in New York, and has performed, lectured, and given masterclasses across the country.Recent collaborators include Kronos Quartet, Youth Speaks, So Percussion, Roomful of Teeth, Star Amerasu, Diablo Ballet, Ballet San Jose, and the San Francisco Girls Chorus. Recent engagements include performances at the Spoleto Festival in South Carolina; Davies Symphony Hall, Herbst Theatre, and SFJAZZ in San Francisco; National Sawdust in Brooklyn; and the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. In the past few years, I have lectured, given masterclasses, and been an artist in residence at the University of South Carolina, University of California (Berkeley), University of Texas (Austin), University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), Florida International University, University of Miami, and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
