In December, 2020, I was a retired police commander working at Lake Travis ISD managing all aspects of their Safety and Security protocols when the School Board approved the creation of the District’s own police department. I was tasked with building the police department from the ground up (establishing agency, designing and ordering vehicles, badges, patches, hiring, etc). I was appointed Chief of Police in May of 2021. As Chief of Police/Director of Security, I manage all aspects of the District’s police department which currently has a sworn strength of a chief and 13 officers. We will be expanding over the next several years due to the fast growth rate of Lake Travis ISD. I also oversee the District’s safety and security program; coordinate emergency operations and response plans; coordinate efforts with other law enforcement agencies; and ensure enforcement of all federal, state, local laws and ordinances

Plan, coordinate, implement and manage the District’s safety processes and security systems portfolio. I manage the District’s safety and security program and coordinate the emergency operations response plan.

Before retiring, I was the commander over the Special Operations Division, which included SWAT, Bomb Squad, Patrol K9, Explosive Detection K9, Air Support Unit, Hostage Negotiators, Executive Protection and the Patrol and K9 units at the Austin Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA). Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the division and for providing the direction and guidance to personnel within this critical division. Prior to that assignment, I held command positions in Patrol, Recruiting, Training, Psychological Services, Internal Affairs, Chaplain's Program, Risk Management, Inspections, Policy, Technology, Fleet Operations and Police Equipment. I have also served as the commander of the Special Response Team (SRT). Before promoting to the commander rank, I served in various assignments as a lieutenant, sergeant, detective and patrol officer.
