This role involved the supervising and overseeing all airside areas to ensure that operations were carried out in a safe and compliant manner. To act in a senior capacity in an airfield officer function, making critical safety decisions.Within this role i was responsible for the safety of the airside operation, with critical decision making authority it was imperative i remained calm under pressure and made clear and concise decisions on the direction of the airfield operation. Micro managing the response to any incident or accident of the airfield.Responsibilities included;Supervision of the Operations control team.Accident and incident investigation.Hold a complex understanding of airfield infrastructure and operational procedures.Supervise and coordinate the emergency response to aircraft/airside incidents.Complete and submit Mandatory Occurrence Reports to the Civil Aviation Authority.Hold and Chair safety committee meetings with third party agencies.Comply with relevant legislation such as CAP 168 and CAP642.

Airfield Operations Control Operative
A dual role covering both airfield operations control and fire control. Collaborative working with many different departments and agencies was essential to the success of this role.Aircraft parking stand planning and allocation across 3 different aprons including, commercial passenger, freight and general aviation aircraft. A task which requires detailed knowledge of aircraft dimensions and types.Liaison with multiple departments and agencies such as air traffic control, terminal management, airlines, handling agents and the emergency services. This required excellent communication skills to ensure the smooth running of the operation.To maintain a comprehensive record of all aircraft incidents. This was achieved by means of direct communication with the Officer in charge of the rescue and firefighting service. Multi tasking was essential as it was my responsibility to communicate to and requests all emergency services to incidents.Good working knowledge of Word/Excel/Powerpoint as well as internal database management.
