I have taken on a new role in 2015 looking to work with clients to develop truly collaborative approaches built around the right mind-set, the right behaviours which are then supported by process. There are better ways of starting a collaborative relationship than starting with a lowest price competition, adverse commercial terms and then say let’s work together! I have used collaboraitve negotiation techniques, based on devleoping a relationship before we negotiate to achieve real win/win relationships between clients and their suppliers.I bring not only a business approach to this aspect but a personal belief. Ten years ago I took part in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, racing 10,000 miles from Brazil to Australia, including the infamous Southern Ocean. For 3 months team work and relying on each other, taking feedback and keeping it fresh was a way of life not a nice to have!
