Key Achievements:➔ Implementation of a “simple” fix improved the build rate fixtures on front seat line from 80-85% of the time to now 98% - 100% success rate.➔ Implemented the new layout which resulted in an improvement to the construction process for the cushion operators to build 5 cushions ahead of the line at any one time that are sequenced.Key Accountabilities/ Functions:➔ Supported trials and final introduction of compliance bushes onto front seat line via assisting with data collections which enable it to be used to fine-tune the DC tool in order to reduce the kick received by the operator due to the DC tool feedback as a soft joint was torqued up. ➔ Lead the investigation and implementation of improving the rate of detection of build fixtures (allowing line to index) from the front seat line. ➔ Supported the implementation of extraction units on the weld cells via working collaboratively with other engineers; to design and implement a solution which involved utilizing a portable extraction unit, hoses, pipes and tee pieces to create a working piece extracting paint fumes caused by painting of the front seat back frames from the welding cells.➔ Implemented the new layout; increased the efficiency of how operators worked due to the improved layout; decreased the amount of rework seats required since the introduction of the conveyor belt, as this allowed for cushion operators to build 5 cushions ahead of the line at any one time that are sequenced.➔ Reviewed and implemented operating procedures for several different working procedures such as: the process of welding cushion frames, front seat back frames and bombardier headlights; ➔ Investigated and constructed a detailed register of weld parts for the Ford Territory welding parts. This information could be used to contact container suppler with regards to organizing different types of packaging.
