Daily line management of 15 staff across the Unions national Recruitment and Membership Teams;Daily supervision of an additional 10 staff within the Union 's Member Support and Advice Team;Production and analysis of key performance indicators based on membership trends to inform discussions with senior management team;Production and analysis of a wide range of other statistics on organisational trends to inform cross team discussions, including equalities and demographic information;Supporting the Union's national communication strategy, through production of communications information;Developing and delivering the Union's annual professional development seminars for newly qualified teachers;Speaking and presenting on issues related to the recruitment and retention of members and the professional development of teachers at numerous other forums including Union conferences, training courses and as an invited speaker at universities;Writing the Union's key publications aimed at student and newly qualified teachers;Servicing the Union's national Recruitment Committee and implementing the Union's national recruitment strategies.

Seconded to UNISON's national office to work in the Learning and Organising Services department. Wrote and delivered national training courses and worked on national organising initiatives. Sat on national project boards, helped to organise, deliver and speak at national seminars and conferences. Delivered UNISON's education programme across the UK.

Worked with UNISON branches and branch activists across the West Midlands. Helped identify recruitment potential and help to practically implement recruitment initiatives. Helped to identify and train new branch activists, worked with branches to look at developing their existing structures. Lead and helped to deliver regional campaigns including 'Save our NHS Campaign'. Organised and spoke at regional seminars and conferences.

As part of a Union Modernisation funded project was employed as UNISON West Midlands first Lifelong Learning Fieldworker. Identified potential Union Learning Reps, recruited to the role, negotiated with employers when setting up learning partnerships, offering low paid workers time off for training courses including skills for life courses. Trained Union Learning Reps. Worked with partners including Unison branch activists, WEA and the TUC.

To supervise and manage the day to day work of six membership clerks.

Undertook various jobs including general clerical and administrative work and then Membership work including answering members telephone queries and updating membership database. Was seconded from Sepetmber 2000 to Decemeber 2001 to test and help with implementation of new membership database.
