On Dec 1st 2012 I joined Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions (TGCS). This company has been formed by Toshiba acquiring IBM Retail Store Solutions from IBM. IBM will retain a (just under) 20% stake in TGCS for a period of 3 years.TGCS is all about the store, it is where retailers make, and lose money. TGCS is focused on delivering value to clients by helping them maximise money made and minimising value leaking from the business.From 2007 to present date I have been the IBM leader for Retail and Consumer Products Industry’s in Northern Europe.Prior to joining IBM in 1987 I worked for Plessey Networks, selling digital fibre optic line systems to PTTs in the Far East. Having joined IBM I worked as client manager on Allied Breweries, Asda and Boots. I then joined the management team for the unit responsible for Retail and Consumer Products clients. I ran various teams within this unit for a number of years before being assigned to a project managing the IBM B2B effort across EMEA.In 2001 I was made the Executive assistant to the General Manager for IBM EMEA. In 2002 I moved back to the UK as lead for the UK IBM Retail, Consumer Product and Travel and Transport Business Consulting Services practice. In 2004 IBM acquired PWCC and formed IBM Global Business Services. I was given the role of leader for the GBS Retail, CP and T&T team across EMEA.In 2006 I joined a global team developing Industry specific solutions, and then undertook the recruitment and deployment of the sales teams across EMEA.
