Andy is the 5th great-grandson of the founders of Mossy Creek, and 3rd great-grandson to Dr. Isham Peck and his wife Emma (Henderson) Peck. He is a devoted husband and father, military chaplain, family researcher, and author. He grew up as an Air Force brat, living in Germany and the southeastern and midwestern states of America. Andy has a Master of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Missouri – Columbia. He is also an accomplished speaker and preacher, speaking at schools and churches throughout the country. He conducts presentations for elementary schools, universities, and historical societies. In 2022, he was the keynote speaker for both the East Tennessee Historical Society in Knoxville and the Appalachian Cultural Center at Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee. He has spoken to men's and women's groups, young adults, and served as the keynote for a city prayer breakfast in the St. Louis area. He has conducted book tours throughout East Tennessee, Western North Carolina, Georgia, and Louisiana, speaking for writers' groups, and libraries. He was the keynote speaker for a Valdosta, GA Book Club held at Valdosta Country Club. He has also appeared on Knoxville's "Living East Tennessee" television program. His favorite activities are spending time with his family, golfing, and whistling. He also performs the National Anthem on trumpet at military occasions, sporting events, and by special request.
