Joined expanding company with the following remit, to oversee project to increase ice cream capacity, new product development and improve quality.

Appointed to manage the Lincoln site from May 2009 until end Jun 09.

Managed the Portsmouth site from Jun 08 until end Feb 09 when this site closed as part of a phased restructuring of the business. The Portsmouth site employed 220 at peak, processed upto 145 million litres of milk per annum, manufacturing branded and own label products for Tesco, Co-operative, 3663, Compass and Watsons (Medina) in the following packaging formats, polybottles, cartons, pergals and bulk pallecons. Achievements• Improvement in OEE – saving £45K.• On course for delivery of site budget – to Period 10 budget bettered by £36K.• ‘Profit Improvement Plan’ generated savings £78K to date.• Implemented site projects within budget.• Restructured Site Management structure to encourage ownership, annualised savings £95K.Responsibilities• Setting the site budget.• Control of site budget.• Setting Site KPI targets.• Overall control of Production, Dispatch, Engineering, Technical, Transport, and Administration functions.• Site CAPEX proposals.• Site projects.• Site Standards (BRC, ISO 9001, 14001).• Interfacing with Regulatory bodies.• Health and Safety.• Environmental Issues.

Responsible for the Production and Dispatch functions with a team of Managers reporting directly in. The Site produced a range of fresh milks and creams, customers included Tesco, Co-operative and Budgens. Areas of control included daily control of Production and Dispatch functions ensuring that site KPIs were met, ensuring compliance of Site standards, liaising with the engineering and technical departments, Health and Safety and disciplinary issues.Achievements• Delivered 2% improvement in butterfat yield, worth a value £75K to the business (2004/05).• Implemented and managed reduction in Line staffing value £45K per annum.• Realigned NRC line department responsibilities, cost savings of £25K. • Responsible for departmental KPI generation and attainment, inclusive of ‘OEE’, quality, material wastage, butterfat yields, delivery efficiency.• Implemented training plan for site. Generated training matrix plan.Responsibilities • 24/7 responsibility for 120 operators over 3 shifts, via a team of 8 front line managers/supervisors.• Ensuring that Site KPI targets were met these included Wastage, Line efficiencies, Butterfat control, Delivery efficiency.• Ensuring the compliance of Site Standards.• Liaising with the Engineering and Technical departments.• Deputising for the Site Manager in his absence.• Disciplinary issues.• Health and Safety.
