Career SnapshotI am a competent and creative customer care professional with over 8 years’ experience working in high pressure call centre environments and a further 7 years experience working as a rock climbing instructor.The Long VersionWorking in calls centres, my responsibilities involved successful cold calling, supervising and training new team members, attending on-site advertising meetings with customers, taking photographs and developing advertisements that produced tangible results, while maximising advertising spend and repeat sales opportunities for the business.In 2016 I began working at my climbing gym face to face with the public. A welcome change and one that I embraced with enthusiasm. My years spent honing my skills in customer relations served me well as I spent the next 7 years working among the climbing community, encouraging and coaching students of all ages. My initial responsibilities included equipment sales, gym maintenance, and client relations. It was quickly identified that I had a gift for teaching which, combined with my passion for customer care, allowed me to rapidly grow and add coaching to my duties. Since then I have spent time as the head coach of both of the gyms I have worked for, the duties of which included collaborating with and managing coaching teams, training new coaches, lesson planning, and keeping extensive records on all of our students to track their individual progress. I have run highly successful climbing classes for students across a large range of ages (5-60+), and am well regarded in the climbing community.In 2019 I was also part of the team working on the relocation of the climbing gym I was then employed by. This involved first dismantling, and then construction in the new location which led to learning a range of extra skills, primarily carpentry related. All while still coaching our students at other gyms.Since 2011 I have also been working steadily on my personal music projects. I write my own songs, play guitar and sing. I primarily work solo, though occasionally collaborate with other musicians. I have also been studying recording & production. While playing many small shows of my own over the years I have had the privilege of growing a good reputation which has lead to some amazing opportunities. I've been a part of 2 highly successful fringe shows, opened for an international act, and spent 3 months in Japan playing for holiday makers.I am now incredibly excited to take all of my experience, along with my love of learning, and jump into my next challenge.
