Responsible for all operations within the hardware engineering department, including hands-on multi-project management, conducting research, writing product requirements, evaluating ODM designs, hardware qualification processes, vendor selection, ODM project management, regulatory compliance, directing PCB layout, enclosures and packaging, continuing engineering, cost reduction, and managing project schedules and staff. Represented hardware engineering to interface directly with operations, sales, quality control, manufacturing, business development staff and overseas engineering/manufacturing contacts regarding all aspects of product development, cost analysis, corrective action, and manufacturability.Conceived, developed and brought to the retail market an app-driven portable compact cellular multisensor with internal rechargeable battery backup, under the Motorola brand. Successfully brought to market well over 50 separate ODM and internally developed consumer hardware devices sold through retail, distribution, e-tail, ISP, and various other channels. Products include cellular modems and routers, a cellular multisensor and cellular flood sensor, WiFi 6/6E mesh routers, cable modems and gateways, DSL modems and routers, Bluetooth devices and more. Responsibilities also include determining US DOC HTS numbers and applying for ECCN and CCATS encryption export classifications.Product technology areas include cellular, WiFi 5/6/6E, DOCSIS cable, Ethernet, I2C sensors, battery subsystems, internet access, RF and antenna design, DC power adapters, packaging, USB, PCI, DSL, digital/analog audio, Bluetooth, VoIP, embedded processors and DSP’s, telephony.Experience with MQTT, UL 62368, UL 864, UL 1023/985, PTCRB, carrier certifications, FCC Part 15, WiFi Alliance, CEC Level VI
