Key responsibilitiesOperational Management of Transport & Warehouse Operations in 70,000 sq. Ft Multi Temperature Warehouse working on Ministry of Defence Food Supply contract. C100-120 Employees across locations, including Northern Ireland, Carlisle and Manchester.140 cases picking rate per hour throughput across main location, with pallet and cage sortation in addition.Management of 4 Direct Reports.O license holder for operating location, to ensure operations in line with legislation.Monitoring of expenditure to ensure the warehouse and transport operations in line with cost indicators, and adapt in line with peak activity.Health & Safety ownership of location.Meeting with customer (Ministry of Defence) on regular basis at various location dealing with service levels, QA, delivery issues.Key achievementsEmpowerment of existing Management Structure, developing structured development and training program and appraisal system.Planning of historic trends to allow better forecasting of requirements in terms of ad-hoc personnel.Introduction of Management reports across all shifts / locations to allow flow of communication, thus enhancing service / identification of issues for resolution.Liaison with Royal Navy Operations teams in supply of stores within timed window and operational program of ship. Achieved commendation for 100% achievement of storing.Co-ordinated setting up of satellite operation in Northern Ireland during outbreak of Foot & Mouth to keep foods supply moving to Ministry of Defence.Reduction in credit notes raised to customer from 8% to an average of 4.5%

Key responsibilities Management of c40 drivers with three direct reports.Control of all Transport Activities - c30 vehicles.O license holder for location, to ensure operation in line with legislation.Managing and monitoring expenditure, within clearly defined budgetary targets.Coordinating activities at satellite site in Northern Ireland, Carlisle, Newcastle and Manchester.Enhancing of department through information systems through the computerisation of data recordingKey achievementsIntroduced clear objectives and identified areas daily review, to ensure focus and acceptance.Completed an internal route review of all delivery points in order to gain better efficiency and reduce costs. This resulted in a saving of c100K, due to reduced mileage, vehicles and satellite operation (Newcastle). Successfully implemented backhaul/factory gate collection process within the operation that was at peak generating some £250k of revenue.Department was performing below budget at the point of my introduction. After the next full quarter the location had exceeded expectation and was awarded "Manager of Year Award" within Logistics Division.

Key responsibilitiesManagement of c40 operatives over 3 shift patterns dealing with Ministry of Defence Food Supply contract. Managing and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators, with recommendations for improvement.Enhance operation through use of WMS (Crystal) management information systems through all areas of operation from Goods received to delivered goods.Delivery of training and continuous development of staff through company training program.Management of Frozen, Chill and Ambient operations within warehouse.Dealing with Customer Service issues with regards Warehouse operation.Management of resources to ensure customer deliveries met and operational efficiencies introduced wherever.Key achievementsAchieved all KPI, SLA's targets set at start up of new contract.Successfully achieved picking targets above company average.Completed implementation of Warehouse Management System to enable increased productivity, traceability and forecasting of stock and stock rotation.Comprehensive induction and training package implemented for all new staff which was subsequently rolled out through other depots.
