Newly retired, I have over 35 years software development and (literally) award-winning leadership experience. I worked holistically alongside my teams through respectful relationships, clear communication, and technical depth, making sure we understand both the nuances of the client’s needs and the technical and operational details of the team, the tools and techniques. I encouraged a climate of collaboration and mentoring. I practiced thorough documentation of progress, process, and code. I still enjoy learning new tech and finding ways to streamline and resolve pain points. I have worked in a spectrum of languages and application domains. I have successfully led teams engaged in web, cloud, and analytical software projects, from RFP response to final project closeout. From C and Java on Mac UI apps to C++ on PC-based analytical apps to php and HTML5 on the web. I'm fluent in perl and python. I worked on a year-long long multi-discipline team on a cloud-based simulation framework for the USAF using Google Cloud. I am proficient at using DevOps tools (like the Atlassian suite, Jenkins, GitLab) and am a stickler for Agile, especially stakeholder informed involvement, clearly defined and agreed-upon incremental goals for each sprint, daily standups, and using the tools).
