Responsibilities included identifying and analyzing new business prospects, marketing potential building sites, and settling new businesses in Indiana; and assisting existing companies with expansions, financing, training, and infrastructure. Organizations I worked with included federal, state, county, and municipal economic development organizations, utilities, educational institutions, real estate firms, and financial institutions. I assisted business and industry to invest over $750 million in Indiana’s economic infrastructure, and with the employment and training of several thousand workers. A sampling of companies assisted includes Whirlpool, Sony, Pillsbury, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, AE Staley, and Travelers Insurance. I also represented the Governor and Lt. Governor at various municipal and corporate functions.

I worked with residential, commercial, and agricultural customers to promote energy efficiency. Applications included energy audits and analysis, new construction and renovations, HVAC, lighting, and water heating, in addition to contractor development and promotions. Additionally, my responsibilities included billing analysis, budgeting, and community development.
