Lead Asset Development Manager
Managing Operations and Maintenance Readiness for Third Party Projects including the Metropolitan Line Extension and Crossrail. Working with CPD Projects and the maintenance organisation to ensure maintenance requirements are defined as part of the project scope and ensuring those requirements are delivered as part of handover and commissioning. As Crossrail approaches completion, I am currently focused on maintenance readiness activities, specifically the managed handover of all information assets to LU for the 5 central area stations, ensuring LU are ready to maintain the high volume of assets being delivered.
Admf Manager
Head a team of data management staff to manage the data and database structure within the Ellipse System to support the LU’s Asset Management business as a whole. The key elements of the role are split into two areas, the day to day management of the asset register and work management system in Ellipse by the update of data either manually or by script. Also the support of the delivery of new assets into Ellipse by providing data design and information requirement specifications to ensure information is delivered as an asset for handover in line with the actual engineering asset.Act as the custodian of the Ellipse data and system design to ensure delivery of information into the system in line with Metronet and LUL standards and requirements. In addition I provide a central focus for information and data management within COO Assets in the support of all process and business system development, ensuring all related information sets within the business conform to the same standards. Within this role I act on behalf of COO Assets working with S&SD to develop corporate requirements for information across all asset groups. To ensure consistency of use and development, I chair the Ellipse Design Authority where major issues, projects and development can be discussed with the Ellipse Community and resolved with a level of consistency.
Asset Data Manager
I worked with the Ellipse project team and AMT Consultancy on the construction of the Metronet Corporate Asset Register. My key role was to adapt the equipment register functionality in the Ellipse system to build an asset register aligned to all 16 asset groups working within the Metronet rail business. I had to define a consistent set of asset hierarchies for each group and a set of technical and information attributes that built in the requirements of LUL standards and of the Metronet maintenance organisation in order to support the work management solution. This system was developed and rolled out to all asset areas and now is the foundation of the asset management organisation
Central Line Duty Engineer
The primary duty of this role is to ensure the safe and efficient management of Incident/fault call maintenance of Central Line Engineering Assets, with particular Signal, Communications, Trains and Power systems. The main daily task is to monitor the performance of the railway system from an engineering/safety viewpoint, assessing the performance of both assets and contractors. Also by use of remote monitoring systems and software diagnostics trying to identify failures/possible failures quickly or before they actually occur.I also provide wide ranging technical/safety/regulation support to both the Line Service Centre (Fault Report Centre) and contractors alike, assisting in system testing with maintainers and project staff as necessary. As part of the above it is my responsibility to manage or ensure the relevant line asset manager manages all engineering related incidents on the Central Line.Being based within the Central Line Control Room, I provide on a 24 hour shift basis, 1st line fault investigation on all equipment in the Control Room, ensuring minimal interruption to the use of these systems by Line Control Staff. The systems involved ranging from Signalling Control System, Integrated Communications System(CCTV,PA,Radio), HVAC and UPS.
Central Line Planning Manager - Central Line
As part of the devolution of Engineering to the Lines, it was my responsibility to implement and develop the fault management and asset performance monitoring function on the Central Line. The primary role was to establish the Line Service Centre as the multi-asset report centre for all asset failures. I had to manage the human resources issues involved with the phasing of temporary and permanent staff this proving to be a very testing management role.I also wrote and developed many of the fault management procedures and chief engineer’s requirement definitions. The need for a fault management system for logging failures and the provision of performance data led to my involvement in the development of the LSC fault logging system, encompassing both Line and Chief Engineer’s requirements. The Planning side to this job was to co-ordinate the many projects and maintenance jobs on the Line this led to the development of the Station works booking and the line co-ordination systems both being used at different planning levels to avoid clashes of access and duplication of project and maintenance work.
