When the partnership fell apart at C and M mobile plant repairs i found myself back at RJBudge plant ltd. I had experienced the field and knew what i wanted to do, within months of returning i attended my underground training at Daw mill colliery to escape the workshop environment and widen my skills. Working underground on FSVs and Locos was something new and exciting, Commissioning engine overhauls,carrying out part engine rebuilds, changing engines, fuel pumps and axles in hot,dark, humid conditions. Walking miles with a bag of spanners, bottle of water and the parts required to carry out the job sounds mad, but always a great team of men happy to help out.

Various Sites Around The Midlands Area

Working for a small company with a company van travelling around various different sites, mostly power stations attending breakdowns on a wide variety of mobile plant changing major components (when required) and fault finding. Carrying out routine servicing, preventative maintenance, electrical testing, welding and general repairs. Spent some time sub contracting to VHE completely overhauling cat D8K dozers and terex scrapers to a high standard.

Overhauling major units to manufacturers specifications in workshop conditions, Engines, Transmissions, Torque converters, Diffs, Brake packs, Hydraulic pumps, Rams, Suspension legs and Wheel stations... Mostly caterpillar, Komatsu, Cummins and O and K equipment...Short period of time spent repairing lorries,trailers, tractors and company cars

Attended Bircham Newton training centre, Kings Lynn including work experience at Retford Head office workshops working towards city and Guilds contractors plant mechanics and Maintenance mechanics (construction plant)
