Here I held a number of varied positions and was responsible for support and maintenance in a number of different roles. All positions involved working with all levels of staff in order to establish and meet their needs.To June 1999 I was given the responsibility for the rollout of anti virus software across all Liverpool supported Netware v3x and v4x servers becming the central contact for virus related issues.From June 1999, with proven commitment and responsibility for long term rolls I was seconded to a Year 2000 project. Experiences gained in desktop and infrastructure environments thus far came to the fore and very quickly became a prominent figure within this team and given responsibility for a sub-team whilst reporting to the project manager.Jan 2000 saw me recruited into the Server Management team. The team was set up to support and maintain the newly acquired NDS infrastructure and desktop environments. My role here was to take forward newly acquired technologies and proffer them to a wider audience than was already committed. This role also encompassed a ‘Stream Leader’ role in a project set up to recommend improvements and consolidate existing infrastructure. Drawing upon support and experience from colleagues across the UK, I developed standards for the NDS infrastructure.The Server Management role required me to set about recruiting a small team of people who could assist me in supporting and maintaining the NDS infrastructure, and it’s standards in delivering applications and managing NT desktops remotely and centrally.Other project roles were offered over a period of time. One major project’ involvement was as a member of a team of 3 advisors to the RSA’ UKLife company directorate which was tasked with the analysis of IT within UKLife for a potential buyout of this part of the company. Here I drew upon skills acquired over a number of years and, more importantly, business and technical knowledge gained thus far.
