I was employed by Devonshire Homes as an architectural technician, My duties involved preparing planning drawings, converting planning drawings into working drawing housing packs, from substructure to the roof layout and everything in between. Drawing construction details, Link foundation plans, Setting out drawings, conveyance plans and providing detailed construction information to site managers, as well as liaising with local authority building control, the NHBC and external contractors and consultants. I have also been heavily involved with the HQI and Lifetime home standards mainly for housing association clients. This has involved ensuring that our buildings match the matrices and stringent criteria required, to ensure we fulfill our contractual obligations. Whilst employed with Devonshire homes I hwas working closely with the in house design, surveying and construction departments, ensuring a smooth progression through the construction process. I also working closely with the company architect, working on schemes that range from small developments of around 20 plots, which include housing association homes, to a three storey residential block with commercial units underneath. As well as a large scale multi million pound bespoke housing development, encompassing new build and renovation projects.

I worked for Jacobs within their Environmental team, whilst there I worked on many different scale projects involving waste water and sewerage schemes which included plans, site plans, sections and elevations. This was coupled with site visits and surveys. Whilst there I also learnt the basics of a 3D modeling program called Solidworks.

I worked with the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (Wonford) where I had been working with the Estates department on plans, elevations, sections, small scale surveys, record drawings, feasibility studies, mechanical and electrical drawings, whilst maintaining and updating 700 hard copy record drawings and a computer based library.

I was employed as part of a team of CAD Technicians, mainly working on water, waste water, railway projects and site surveys. I was a junior member responsible for carrying out tasks provided by the CAD manager. For example I was tasked with updating the standard block library and ensuring they conformed to the companies CAD standards. I was also involved with being engineers assistant whilst they carried out site surveys.
