I previously served in the British Army, for nine and a half years, in and Intelligence and Security role before joining the Metropolitan Police, with whom I served for 23 years, predominantly in a close protection role. I have therefore, for almost my entire working life, been involved in some form of Intelligence or Security role and now wish to take this forward, in tandem with my knowledge of computers as a user, into a new career path, that of the field of CyberSecurity.I accept that this is early days and I have a way to go before I can consider myself proficient or competent in CyberSecurity, however, I am taking as many online courses as I can, I am currently concentrating on Penetration Testing as a skill set, endeavouring to have, at very least, some working knowledge of the field in to which I hope to move.I believe, at this time, and probably for quite some time now, my greatest skill is, and has been, communication, both verbal and written. In my previous job, part of my role was to communicate across the entire spectrum of society, from those who were socially disadvantaged to those at the very highest levels of their respective Governments, and it is my honest held belief that I did this very well. I believe that my command of the English language is above average, my only regret is that I have never been able, or had the inclination, if I am to be perfectly honest, to expand this skill into other languages.My interests/hobbies include photography, films and cinema, and I follow football as a sport.I believe that my hunger to learn and my communicative ability will , hopefully, stand me in good stead, as I continue on the road to a career change.
