We are Fire Engineering radically different. We help Design and Construction teams understand the box they have to work in, and we facilitate the design vision when it gets outside the box. I am focused on building an independent code consulting and fire engineering practice. Working proactively to serve developers, architects, engineers, contractors and real-estate professionals. We provide consulting during all phases of the development process from pre-design through construction and post-occupancy.

Work group is tasked with developing an interpretive manual associated with code requirements for Group I-3 Occupancies.

Lecturer for introductory course on building codes. Focus is on International Building Code with California Amendments. As Director of West Coast Operations, Andrew was tasked with development and management of Cosentini's full range of engineering consulting services in West Coast Markets with a primary focus on Los Angeles/Orange County and San Francisco as well as additional focus on Salt Lake City, San Diego, Seattle, Phoenix, and Portland on a project-by-project basis. As Senior Fire Protection Engineer, Andrew developed a Code Consulting and Fire Protection engineering practice for Cosentini in the Greater Los Angeles and Southern California region. Andrew specializes in IBC/CBC based code consulting and developing design solutions to complicated fire protection engineering challenges. His experience includes Smoke Control Rational Analyses, Performance Based Design, Egress Modeling, Fire Modeling, Fire Protection System Design, Healthcare Occupancies, Higher Education, Laboratory and Technology, High-Rise Buildings, Mixed-Use Development, and negotiation with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (including OSHPD, CSFM and DSA).Cosentini's design services include HVAC, electrical power, fire protection engineering, plumbing, telecommunications, security, audiovisual, specialty lighting, LEED/sustainable design, LEED facilitation, mission-critical design, commissioning, construction services, and code consulting.

Andrew served as project manager and project staff on a wide variety of design and construction projects. His work at RJA included CBC/IBC and NFPA based consulting, fire suppression system design, statements of conditions for healthcare facilities, facilities assessments, special engineering studies, smoke control system rational analyses and special inspection as well as hazardous materials consulting. Andrew worked on multi-discipline project teams from design conception through construction.

As assistant to the Campus Fire Marshal, Andrew assisted in building plan check review for campus construction projects.
