As Principal of Aurora College I led the establishment of all aspects of a new Decile 2, 650 student, Year 7 – 13 secondary school in a very challenging environment and under significant time constraints. I was responsible to an Establishment Board of Trustees appointed by the Minister of Education. The school employed 64 staff.

Temuka

Opihi College (Temuka High School) was a 450 student, Decile 4, Year 7 – 13 secondary school. The school had a strong cultural focus, a dedicated additional needs unit, and international students from five countries. A key achievement of this role was the retention of the school during the Ministry of Education's Network Review of Schooling in South.

Lumsden

Northern Southland College was a 280 student, Decile 7, Year 7 – 13 Secondary School. The school had a geographically diverse student population from across Northern Southland. I enjoyed the challenge of leading this school as the youngest Secondary Principal in New Zealand.
