• This was a short five month term to replace a retiring manager. • Supervising 45-50 employees and four main assembly areas• Schedule production runs for CNC machines, internal and off-site casting as well as all other machine shop areas. • Developing better QC practices, lean manufacturing, Kanban, 5S; trouble shoot assembly part anomalies. Maintain tooling, consumables and raw materials as required • Initiating better inventory visibility management and bar code control.• Initiate/standardize documentation templates for efficient production and visibility.• Care of all plant facilities, safety, fire prevention and employee health etc.• Interviewing and hiring of personnel as well as HR development.

•Compilation of technical assembly documentation; implement standardization of drawings and specifications, metrology practices and calibration.•Sourcing, specifying and purchasing of manufacturing process buildings, apparatus, precision tooling, jigs, fixtures, calibration and production test equipment.•Design and build precision assembly structures and various tooling for large format print machine assembly lines.•Analyzed the requirements for a fully ESD rated production assembly process and implemented a system including, preventative apparel, equipment, tools, assembly stations, testing and management.•Established and fully equipped a Class II clean room and temp/humidity controlled areas for QC inspection and builds for extremely high precision assembly work. •Solving complex manufacturing and quality issues, implementing higher process standards.•Qualifying R&D designs for production and vendor manufacture in Canada, USA and England.

•Operated own company as a design consultant in new product developments; R&D; professional drafting services; manufacturing support; technical report write-ups and illustrations. •1½-year contract work with Creo as a Senior Technician Developer within a team of 30 engineers. Responsible for prototyping and production development of photo-plate handling and conveying equipment for laser imaging machines. Producing fabrication drawings for vendors and model shop.Sourced materials and parts; conducted testing and design evaluation, fabrication, report write-ups, field installation of equipment, production floor supervision and off-site production startup troubleshooting.•Designed and fabricated home furnishings and renovation of commercial and private establishments.•Taught blueprint reading courses to company personnel.

•Responsible for the design, research and development of numerous innovative products and equipment for the utility service industry involving, castings, extrusions, sheet metal, machining, lubricants, bearings, plastics etc.•Produced detailed part and assembly drawings to industry, ISO and QC specification standards.•Worked off-site on new projects and with vendors to ensure quality standards were maintained.•Off-site research work to establish a medium scale polyurethane plant, where the company would manufacture its own product as well as up-scale to accommodate new growth and supply to industry.

•Engineered and assisted design of new gas fireplace products in conjunction with on-site R&D test lab.•Certification testing of designs to meet various government, institutional and CSA Standards.•Responsible for setting up and maintaining drawing system on computer network; produced detail/assembly drawings and product manuals using AutoCAD, Generic Cad and SMP-81 sheet metal designer.•Designed aluminum extruded products; patent application design work; manufacturing engineering.
