I was responsible for formulating and executing the Venue Security Plans, Deployment and Dot plans for 11 Venues including all phases of construction from Fit-Out to Decommission. My security remit included Gymnastics events at the Hydro in Glasgow (HYD), Rowing and Triathlon events in Strathclyde Country Park (SCR and SCT), George Square Festival Site (GSQ), The Merchant City Festival (MCF), Go Live at Glasgow Green (GLG), Championships House main Civic Reception Venue (CXX), Championship Media Hub (CMH), Uniform and Accreditation Centre (UAC), Broadcast Operations Centre (BOC) and the Transport Fleet Depot (TFD) and other non-competition venues. Working closely with Police Scotland and an understanding of the current threat level to develop and formulate all aspects of Venue security, Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) and Hostile Vehicle Deterrent (HVD) design and deployment. Hands on Supervision of all sites including the welfare issues of all operatives under my remit. Delivering a safe and secure European Championships. At the conclusion of the Championships I oversaw the Bump –Out and Decommission of all my sites returning them to pre Championships venues and all aspects of Post Championship clear up, report writing and evaluation of lessons learned for Transfer of Knowledge (TOK). VSM at 2014 Commonwealth Games as Venue Security Manager for Rugby Sevens and Opening/Closing Ceremonies. All aspects of Security Planning from PSA, HVM, Contractors, VSA, MOSA, Shift planning etc. Working with Police and Military to deliver a safe 2014 Commonwealth Games. Post games clear up of venues, overseeing transition from Glasgow2014 venue back to previous status.

What didn't I do, Patrol Officer, Community Officer, Custody Officer, Public Bar officer, Tutor Constable, Officer Safety Training Instructor, CS Spray Instructor, Airport Patrol Officer and latterly Control Room Sergeant for City Divisions in Glasgow (Acting) and finally Control/Despatch for Paisley until I retired
