My position as a Reporting & Insights Analyst focused on people data within Kier. I worked as part of a busy HR Shared Service centre, providing support to the HR and business functions within Kier. As an analyst, I used the HR information systems to retrieve, analyse and provide data insights, complex reports, dashboards, and executive board packs to help drive business decisions.

My position at Levi’s Strauss (UK) Ltd was to support the FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) function and provide accurate, timely and consistent reports to support the Finance Organisation in the performance analysis of key business drivers and the business-oriented planning and forecasting process. Within my time there I also was trained on how to use their reporting systems SAP and EssBase.

In my role I worked alongside the Head of Pricing Analytics and Pricing Programme Manager. The purpose of the role was to implement pricing strategies, which in turn would have a impact on the future of the business. Using key pricing and statistical models, I analysed underlying data trends to identify risks and opportunities that could affect the achievement of business objectives. As the lead analyst within the team I was responsible for the development and implementation of pricing mechanisms and reporting tools aimed at enhancing and protecting trading profit. I developed Competitor and “Rude” Pricing reports to present this information using the reporting tools MS Business Objects. I would download data sets, put them through my competitor pricing dashboard, then depending on the outcome of this information, forward any changes of price to the appropriate team to be loaded. Once confirmation had been received, I would then re-run the reports to confirm the changes and corrections had taken effect.Other duties included maintaining price lists, contributing content for sales proposals, reviewing price quotes, generating pricing reports on sales revenue, and preparing revenue forecasts and budgets for project managers.
