I'm an entrepreneur with a passion for customer service.Successful in business for the past 22 years, also a business mentor. I have published a business book to inspire people to live their best life every day. After recently choosing to wind up my business and travel for the past 12 months, I am now ready to make a return to using my knowledge, skills, and passion for customer service in the liquor industry.I have a strong desire to provide personal service and build ongoing customer relationships, my preference is to work in a fine wine store, bottleshop, or cellar door operation.Here's the very much shortened version of my story.In my early years I worked in the hotel/club industry, a mix of bar work and hotel management, we’re talking very early days.More relevant in 1993 I gained the position of bottleshop manager in a regional supermarket (Bega Tuckerbag Bottleshop/Murrays Foodworks, Bega). I was fortunate to have owners that allowed me to use my entrepreneurial persona to turn an unknown regional supermarket bottleshop selling beer, spirits, and basic wines into an industry-leading business that was featured in industry magazines for its unique approach which resulted in being named in the LSA Top 10 (1998).I created a wine club, wine-tasting panel, regular wine-maker dinners, and wine-tasting tours to the Barossa Valley and Yarra Valley.Bottom line, these initiatives resulted in the turnover in the bottleshop increasing by 67% with the profit margin also increasing over the 5-year period (see attached media on this transformation).When this business was sold to Woolworths in 1999, I opted to take up a business opportunity rather than stay on with Woolworths.I’m a believer in the health and longevity benefits of being active every day. I’m a keen cyclist, SUP surfer, and hiker, and generally make a point of moving every day. Belle my faithful Jack Russell also likes to keep active, we walk a minimum of 5kms every day.I’ve travelled extensively throughout my life, both for business and pleasure, internationally and domestically.I’m a self taught tech enthusiast, a Google Workspace expert, I’ve also created and taught task and project management workflows.
