Greetings!I am a freelance music and video producer, and the founder and creative director of Gadgetbox Studios, a creative hub for audio and video production located in Santa Cruz, CA. I have been an active collaborator for 20+ years and would love to connect with you and talk about your vision.• I'm currently an active music producer/recording engineer, specializing in rock, folk, acoustic and world music.• I've co-designed and built 6 different music recording facilities, from the original well-loved "Gadgetbox" in a self-storage complex to the multi-room commercial facility on the budding west side arts district of Santa Cruz, CA.- I've worked with over 500 artists and produced, engineered, recorded, and/or mixed over 2000 songs since my humble beginnings in 1998.- I directed and filmed a collaboration with Grammy-award winning guitarist William Coulter and internationally renowned violinist Edwin Huizinga on a short film, "Fire & Grace in Ireland", featuring the duo's instrumental arrangements performed live across the beautiful County Kerry landscapes in southwestern Ireland. - I've been a professional musician since 1995; I sing, play acoustic and electric guitar, bass, lap steel, dobro, percussion, harmonica (and waffle around on drum set and keyboard.)- I've had my work appear on major TV networks, in movies, commercials, major market radio play, and many more notable outlets. (Once I walked into a coffee shop in a very small rural town in Morocco and heard my bass playing on a track I produced and mixed!)- I'm a 2014 Gail Rich Award Winner (awarded by ballot to the individuals who inspire and define the culturally-rich Santa Cruz arts community, presented by the Santa Cruz Sentinel.)- I toured the west coast with independent songwriter Kelli Hanson in 2007. Played SxSW music conference in Austin, TX with instrumental trio "History" (1997) and recording artist Lauren Shera (2007).- I've released two independent albums of original instrumental compositions: • "On Top of the Sun" (1997), and "The Virtue of Evolution (1999)"Andy is able to coax the core of emotion to the forefront of all his productions, and specializes in helping songwriters frame their music with arrangements that shine the most flattering light on their work."
