With a background in nonprofit community work, I have spent the last 18 years working with policymakers and educators to: • Build a quantified understanding of education’s impact on student lives and • Develop, implement and evaluate policies to increase that impact.Over the course of these years, I have developed and used a diverse set of strengths to improve, sometimes successfully and sometimes not, the lives of students: • Policy: Educator human capital policy, state and local policymaking • Public Engagement: public speaking, explaining technical material, facilitating groups • Research: data analysis and visualization, program evaluation, focus groups • Leadership: building relationships, adaptive leadership, empathy
