I led the charitable fund development effort of a private school in southern Boone County. Specific duties include building the base for our fundraising efforts through an effective and deliberate annual fund drive, planning successful fundraising and “friend”raising events, writing grant proposals and making major gift solicitations to current and prospective donors. Specific duties include building the base for our fundraising efforts through an effective and deliberate annual fund drive, planning successful fundraising and “friend”raising events, writing grant proposals and making major gift solicitations to current and prospective donors. The results of this relationship building have exceeded goals. Specifically, TPCA was in the midst of an aggressive campaign that is seeking to raise $600,000 from February through July 31. My tenure ended with well over $500,000 in commitments, and as I left, TPCA is on pace to reach or exceed fundraising goals. Part of this effort included planning our Transforming Hearts, Renewing Minds Annual Fund Banquet that raised over $80,000. This event has grown under my direction in both the number of attendees as well as funds raised.Additional duties include being a member of the administrative decision-making team, and also serving as the central conduit for all communications to different constituents – parents, new enrollees, staff and other sub-groups. This includes writing the copy for e-newsletters, media releases, and academy promotional material. I collaborated with a co-worker to make marketing decisions on behalf of the school and manage our website. Finally, I was the staff liaison with the Parent Teacher Fellowship, Dad’s Club, and have been a founding member of the Athletic Booster Club. Specifically, I wrote copy, collaborated with a free-lance writer for additional copy and worked with an in-house web designer from concept to completion. Also, progress was made on existing projects - the Fort Wayne Sports Heritage video project, and on the Downtown BlueprintPLUS initiative, where I have specifically been involved with overseeing research into the potential for downtown redevelopment though athletics facilities.Through these programs and community initiatives that I have been involved in, I have gained experience working with the media (sports and otherwise), including writing news releases, appearing in front of television cameras, on the radio and in print.Other regular duties include managing our Annual Banquet, an event that attracts more than 250 people, and has featured notable speakers including Peyton Manning, Jerry Yeagley, and Eric Wedge as well as managing an annual golf outing. My duties focused on marketing Fort Wayne as a destination for hobby and athletic groups through local networking, trade show exhibition, direct mail and personal sales calls. Most notably, I was involved in contracting the 2002 Honda Gold Wing Road Riders “Wing Ding” convention, the 2000-2002 Mid-Continent Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments and the Indiana State Young American Bowler’s Alliance to our city.
