Spaceport America Cup is the world's largest international collegiate rocket engineering competition held annually with 150 teams and nearly 2,000 students. - Providing hands-on leadership for Launch Operations and Range Safety for the Spaceport America Cup, ensuring teams have a safe launch, staff and volunteers are supported and sponsors are satisfied. - Leading teams of more than 50 volunteers for the week-long event from initial team registration through closing awards ceremonies. - Successfully implemented enhanced safety requirements including extensive pre-flight safety review procedures which improved overall success rates for student projects without effecting throughput.- Developed strong supporting relationship with Tripoli Rocketry Association, AIAA and many industry partners, vendors and sponsors to ensure the event is successful- Worked with DaVinci Makerlabs to develop, implement and support GPS/Communications tracking backpacks for student teams who were recovering their rockets at the vertical launch area of Spaceport America

Directly responsible for the repairs, maintenance and support of over 100 clinical diagnostic instruments in the East Texas Service area, including 3 large, robotic automation lines. Primary engineer for the district’s largest site, Quest Diagnostics. Strong experience installing, diagnosing, repairing, replacing and optimizing Beckman Coulter’s full line of Hematology instruments and supporting systems. Hands-on work each day with low pressure hydraulics, pneumatics, Class 1 and 2 lasers, electrical motors, fiber-optic sensors/preamps, electronic circuit cards, solenoids, PLCs, PC and Server hardware and software and computer networking.

Supporting more than 30 US and Canadian university teams competing to develop, launch and successfully recover a bi-liquid propelled rocket to the Karman line (330k’) to win a $1 Million dollar prize.- Traveling the US evaluating/auditing teams’ rocketry programs, facilities, staff and student participants. - Providing constant and consistent feedback on safety discipline, training and ensuring teams have the proper financial resources, liability insurance and mentoring they need to progress through each phase of the Challenge. - Working with some of the premier programs in the US and Canada such as Purdue, Michigan, USC, UCLA, Oregon State, Toronto, British Columbia and many others.- Advising Base 11 Leadership team on operational topics, issues and planning for some of the largest amateur rockets ever made. These rockets will approach the maximum impulse of Class 3 FAA COA’s. - Developing, updating and publicizing progression of milestones including Preliminary Design Requirement reviews, Static Test Hotfire reviews, Critical Design Reviews and Final Flight Readiness Reviews.

Responsible for the strategic technology direction and support of all US Oncology Cancer Centers and Clinics in the Central United States (San Antonio to Minneapolis to Youngstown, OH). Direct reporting position to the CIO with dotted line to the Senior VP of clinical operations for the Central Region. Provided physician leaders and clinical management teams guidance and support on all IT activities including strategic IT vision, planning, budgeting, and operational escalation.

Responsible for all corporate IT infrastructure, network and telecommunications systems, service desk, operations and multiple data centers.

Managed a 24x7x365 Windows, Novell and Macintosh server hosting and integration support team. This team consisted of three supervisors and 24 support engineers and staff. This team was responsible for the successful design, testing, integration and 2nd and 3rd level HW and OS support for approximately 400 servers.

Managed a 24x7x365 web-hosting and application integration support team. This team consisted of project managers and technical support staff and was responsible for the successful testing, integration and 3rd-level support of 250+ web applications residing on nearly 1200 windows servers. These included enterprise-critical e-commerce, customer service and employee portal systems that required 99.9% production uptime. Responsible for ensuring the team maintained exceptional customer satisfaction; that work schedules were inline, and performance objectives and budget restrictions were met.

Researched and developed technical designs and business specifications for DoD and Commercial project proposals. Successfully translated RFQ requirements into workable solutions which included compelling ROI summaries and tasking/scheduling. Developed, reviewed and implemented SOWs, proposals, change requests (CRs) and Software Trouble Reports (STR’s). Provided design and development for infrastructure, applications, database and networks for the Geographic Information Systems and 3D Modeling team.

Led a team of configuration management (CM) professionals for a large Department of Defense (DoD) development, integration and support program. Analyzed and fine-tuned the extremely complex software development lifecycle used by 45+ developers. The system had 3.5 million lines of code, 6 major system platforms with 40+ subsystem modules, all under an automated configuration management control system. Developed and implemented source code distribution and capture procedures, auditing, change-control, and standards maintenance procedures.

Responsible for the maintenance and support of all desktop systems and application software for over 600 faculty and staff users and 2000 students. Supervised a staff of desktop and computer lab support technicians. Also administered the VAX/VMS help desk system. Coordinator for campus IT training.
