Group IT Manager of the Pelsis Group, an environmental services company, headquartered in Knaresborough, just outside of Harrogate. My role was to head up the IT function and manage our various 3rd party IT suppliers across the Pelsis Group, covering the UK, Europe and the US. Major projects included the management of an outsourced team of 8 IT support technicians and Project Managers at IBM to provide remote IT support across 18 sites covering 6 timezone locations between India and California. I managed projects to migrate various on-prem ERP systems onto Azure Cloud servers and move 9Tb of in-house file data storage into SharePoint cloud storage. I also introduced the use of Microsoft 365, Wildix VOIP telephony and Azure Virtual Desktops and also co-ordinated 3rd Party suppliers for the installation of IT systems in a new build warehouse in Belgium.

Having working with ONEVisayas Inc. as a volunteer, during several recent visits to the Philippines, I joined them full-time as their IT and Technical Program Director in December 2016. My role was to manage the IT and communication systems serving their offices in Tacloban and Ormoc, Leyte, Philippines and the construction projects at the Integrated Technical Farm and eco-tourism centre in Pastrana, Leyte. I was also responsible for establishing the charity's audio-visual teaching systems in the farm's Livelihood Training Facility and in future planned locations, as well as managing and contributing to their web and social media presence.ONEVisyas is a non–stock, non–profit NGO running an Agriculture Initiative Dispersal (AID) project from an Integrated Technical Farm in Pastrana, Leyte. The AID provides opportunities and resources to help people help themselves. Using the “Pass On” principle, those helped, in turn assist others, ensuring program sustainability. It aims to encourage communities where people can improve their life through their own efforts. Beneficiaries under the AID program are required to pass on something concrete to others in need. The ‘pass on’ might be hatchlings, plant cuttings, seeds, skills, knowledge or community service.

In my position of Group IT Manager, I was responsible for all aspects of IT management, including systems, infrastructure, applications and support services, delivering business-critical IT and POS to 350+ users over 28 offices and print shops at UKs largest independent Reprographics company.Major projects include upgrades to all branch Internet connectivity to high speed fibre optic lines. Upgrade of all 28 branch PABX telephone systems to a single integrated VOIP system. Installed company wide private cloud system from Acronis to resolve local backup vulnerabilities and backup data & server VMs to off-site locations. Launched a project to gain ISO27001 certification for the Hobs Group.

In my role as Head of IT for one of the largest Planning and Design companies in the UK, I managed a multifunctional team if 6, covering Helpdesk support staff, Systems Administrators, Web Designers and DBAs. My department provided IT support for over 320 staff across 11 UK sites.Major projects included the roll out of a VOIP telephony system, introduction of Citrix remote desktop solutions and virtualisation of servers, cloud based email solution and companywide Office 365 and multiple server and storage network upgrades. I also managed the IT systems for the opening or relocation of numerous office sites, including a major project to relocate the head office into new premised in Reading city centre.

Head of IT for the PRC Group of Companies responsible for the development of their UK and International IT infrastructure. I manage 2 full-time IT staff in the UK and 1 in Dubai and in Abu Dhabi and coordinate with external IT support services in Shanghai, Ireland and Poland. I am responsible for ensuring 24/7 availability of all IT systems.I am personally responsible for all of the company’s IT projects, to proactively identify and implement opportunities for improvement, and report directly to the Board of Directors on all aspects of project progress, performance, costs, security policy & regulatory compliance etc

I provided specialised consultancy services in IT and CAD, managing 2 other part-time IT staff. The consultancy worked on a range of long term projects for various blue-chip clients. In all cases I was responsible for dealing with people in a variety of professions and levels of IT skill.
