I like to lift others up and I believe passionately in providing value and an experience that executives often cannot create on their own. In my Vistage peer groups, I help people with the difficult conversations. As a facilitator, I confront controversy and issues head-on by asking direct questions without judgment—moreover, an accountability group with your peers will help you see your blind spots that will help you grow. I develop better leaders who take in the whole picture instead of being narrowly focused. I get to work with CEOs on the front end, instead of trying to turn them around on the back end. We assist them in hiring the best people available, which creates companies that flourish and ultimately enhances the St. Louis area and strengthens our business community. This brings me joy, and it is the reason I get up every morning. Vistage has more than 17,000 members in 15 countries, and chairs bring vital, thought-provoking perspectives to improve the methods and outlook of chief executives around the globe. These methods help CEOs overcome obstacles and seize opportunities. I take great pride in not only being a chair, but being the chair that is the best possible fit for the St. Louis Area.It is a continuing process to attract new members and it also adds energy to a group when someone new joins. We work with people who want to learn and grow.
