About Andy Clausen, Asa Bv/Ia

I have developed tools to expedite and navigate the intricacies of valuations for financial reporting purposes (ASC 805, 350, & 718). I am proficient in both intangible assets and machinery & equipment (M&E/PP&E) valuations financial reporting purposes. I am an ASA (Accredited Senior Appraiser), certified in business valuation and intangible asset valuations, and a holder of the CEIV™ (Certified in Entity and Intangible Valuations™) credential. Prior to joining DS+B and starting Bluerock Valuation Services, I served as a manager at RSM US LLP, the fifth-largest public accounting firm in the U.S., where I assisted the assurance group by reviewing third-party valuations. I estimate that I reviewed approximately 350-450 externally prepared valuations while at RSM. During this time I realized that too many firms were struggling to prepare acceptable valuations in a timely and cost-effective manner so I decided to become one of the independent, third-party providers and leverage the knowledge I acquired regarding the inner-workings of the audit review process to prepare credible valuations that make life easier for CFOs, financial reporting managers, and audit teams. I live in Gunnison, Colorado with my daughters and wife, who is a professor of engineering at Western Colorado University. I am an avid skier (and member of the National Ski Patrol), mountain/road biker, triathlete, and 4x Ironman finisher in Arizona, Cozumel, Wisconsin, and Boulder.
