Facilitator; Technical Assistance Coordinator
With support from a major health foundation, Transformative Alliances, LLC, completed two 18 month cycles of a unique anti-oppression leadership development program for community organizers across Colorado.Community Leaders in Health Equity curriculum provided participants with a foundational framework for understanding equity and health equity, with specific exploration of systems of oppression based on race, class, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, citizenship status and language. One of my roles supported grantees' access to multiple local, regional, and statewide sessions. I served as the point of contact between statewide grantees, The Colorado Trust, and Transformative Alliances curriculum leaders, designers, and facilitators. After coaching toward successful local grassroots recruitment efforts, I worked alongside grantees to review previous events, communicate next steps, troubleshoot participant issues, adjust event accessibility and accommodations, and collect ongoing program data.During multi-day conventions, I served as a lead or supporting facilitator on topics like socioeconomic class cultures; "reverse" racism; historical oppression and resistance timelines on race, class, sex, gender in the U.S.; and more.
