I then spent twenty years as an on-screen journalist for ITV in Wales ending up as Chief Reporter before moving into news management. I have a passion for increasing the diversity and inclusivity of the broadcasting sector and a keen and long-standing interest in online and social media journalism. l am an experienced media law and compliance trainer having worked with newsrooms across the ITV network. I am a former LGBT diversity champion for ITV Wales and helped to set up a panel bringing together ITV Wales staff and senior representatives of the diverse communities of Wales. I am a former trustee of one of the ITV group pension schemes.In a previous life I was National Executive Council member of the NUJ for Wales, a trained senior lay negotiator and the founding chair of the union's Wales Council.
