I have always enjoyed learning a variety of skills and having every day present a different and new challenge. This may be why I was so drawn to biomedical engineering due to its highly collaborative and diverse nature as a field of study. During my graduate career I have been seeing how effective multiple points of view (or “hats”, if you will) are in creating the most effective and holistic approaches in research, product development, and business.As I start my career, I want to bring the many different hats I have learned to wear during my biomedical engineering education to the field to improve medical devices and biomaterials, as well as increase the sale and use of many of these outstanding products to further the quality of life of as many people as possible. Biology, mechanics, imaging, and others have all been a part of my curriculum and research, and so if you are looking for a new member to your team who has a biomedical background, or even just want to discuss ideas, connect with me and lets start trying to create novel advances. In my spare time outside of the lab, I enjoy working on sports cars and playing electric guitar and bass. I also frequent many startup- and biotech-related events that take place in the Birmingham area such as Startup Drinks and Biotech Brouhaha.
