Responsible for the satisfactory interfacing of the major subsystems produced by five separate Marconi divisions for the world's largest ever transmitter upgrade program for Voice of America. These included 500kW HF transmitters, transmitter remote control subsystem, coaxial feeder and switching matrix, arc detection and safety interlocks, dummy loads and HV supply.Later transferred to GEC National One, a subsidiary of Marconi, operating a "home-grown" nationwide trunked radio network for fleet operators. Led integration testing of new base station/switching software to support mobile data transmission via the network. Specified requirements for network enhancements such as enhanced mobile data services and PABX interface to the network. General problem solving relating to signaling and RF issues. Represented the company at UK Department of Trade and Industry standards drafting groups.

Conducted line of sight surveys and feasibility evaluation for digital microwave links over London. Calculated path budgets, selected antennas and suitable digital radio transceivers and channel banks. Allocated equipment resources and network access using the company's provisioning system.
