Responsible primarily for technical, role entailed initially forwarding the company from its original box shifter philosophy to one of a true “Solutions” company. My appointment meant all server configurations and cabling could be carried out “in house”. Responsible again to ensure all support contracts are fulfilled, and that our customer’s networks are running smoothly. Responsible for locating suitable software in order to meet the needs of our corporate and educational customers. Duties also include monitoring the current market place in order to identify potential opportunities or threats. This has included the adoption of various new products including Avaya IP Office for voice,VMware for Virtualisation to ingegrate into the companies existing Microsoft Server based offering . Also responsible for overseeing network designs and the larger networking proposals. Position contains a substantial sales element with daily interaction with customers and attendance of the majority of sales meetings on larger networks, Also raising the profile of the company with networking events.

Role included visiting customers for sales meetings followed by providing quotations or detailed proposals of how to forward their IT infrastructure, responsible for over seeing all new installations as well as supporting existing customers holding support contracts. Responsible for scheduling other engineer’s time and providing technical support should an engineer have an issue they cannot resolve. Also responsible for closely following the SME market place (up to 50 seats) in order to identify new products and opportunities for the company within its market place, the company was a Sage Line 50 reseller and specialised in networks to include Structured Cabling systems including Multi mode fibre, Small Business Server 2000 “our flagship product” (Windows 2000, ISA, SQL & Exchange Server) and all other Microsoft Server Products.
