I got involved in home automation design way back in 2005 working for new start up company in Birmingham who were looking for an audio specialist.Using my technical knowledge gained at university and within the professional audio industry, I found many similarities between the design of home automation systems and recording studios. My experience with Audio distribution, sound reinforcement and acoustic design, even DMX lighting automation all aided the transition towards my role within the Home Automation industry. When I first started in Home automation we didn’t have smart phones or tablets. UHD video was just a dream. Now we take these things for granted. All available on demand and even via mobile. DIY home automation is available to many but it does have its limitations. There is now a bewildering number of IOT devices and systems out there to choose from and make sense of. It can be a hobby for some but In larger projects the only reliable solution will be to employ a professionally designed and installed home automation system.I'm always looking to technology to enhance everyday life, to improve building performance and to be more user friendly. I understand how complicated these systems can be to design and I’m always excited by the challenges new technology brings.Over last 16 years I've worked on projects both simple and complex in their design.
