Andy G. Navarrete (he/him/his) is a tech professional, educator, and community advocate with over 19 years of experience in big-box retail, non-profit, and higher education. He currently consults at KAI Partners providing executive management support for program delivery. Previously at KAI, he worked as the lead Program Manager for the CalHHS-sponsored Children and Youth Behavior Health Initiative (CYBHI), California’s “Master Plan for Kids” budgeted at $4.7B aimed at building an ecosystem of mental and behavior health care for California kids. He was the Senior Director of Business Operations, Project Management Office, and Professional Services at Xyramid, an organization building AI products to center individual health and wellness. Andy has held traditional and Agile roles varying in seniority at Costco Wholesale, Alluma (formerly Social Interest Solutions, now OneDegree), and Blue Shield of California. His background is diverse having worked with government clientele, Fortune 25 companies, and non-profit. His experience in various industries is also diverse, having delivered programs and projects for social justice and welfare causes, SaaS/Product, cybersecurity, and marketing/brand.Andy holds a number of coveted professional credentials (PMP, PMI-ACP, CSP-SM, CSPO, and Scrum Foundations Educator) which have helped establish and maintain his deep and wide knowledge base for high quality execution and business acumen. In turn, he holds his MA from Sacramento State in Communication Studies with a focus on public criticism, technology, and organizational communication. As an academic and educator, he has presented competitive research at regional, national, and international conferences and has served as part-time faculty at his Alma Mater’s Communication Studies department. Outside of work, Andy promotes his passion for advocacy on advisory councils in community organizations. Most notably, he was hand-selected by the Chief Programs Officer of The Sacramento LGBT Community Center as part of a team of 12 to enact the first-ever Economic Justice Program, a program with the mission to provide career-related resources to Sacramento’s BIQTPOC community. When he’s not supporting teams, fundraising, or grading papers, Andy enjoys volleyball and singing. He continues to play competitive volleyball tournaments across North America along with outdoor grass tournaments at Sacramento’s local parks. In 2017, he represented the US at the Karaoke World Championships held in Helsinki, Finland, as the reigning US gold medalist taking home the bronze.
