Oracle Database Administrator working within the Core Infrastructure Services team.Recent acheivements include implementing an Oracle Real Application Cluster high availability system.

Supported and maintained over 30 production instances of Oracle RDBMS versions 8.1.7, 9.2.0 and 10.2.0 and more than 50 production SQL Server databases including version 7.0, 2000 and 2005. Maintained databases that were part of a variety of third party and in-house designed applications including the JD Edwards Enterprise One finance system. Consistently achieved the department SLA of more than 99.9% uptime for all production databases.Installed Oracle RDBMS and SQL Server software including back up, recovery, space management and database reorganisation for over 1500 users.Developed database monitoring scripts in both SQLPlus and T-SQL, plus Korn shell scripting and job scheduling via the Unix cron facility.Input into code development from the database perspective and the building and quality checking of database objects. Performed daily and out of hours support of all databases plus all Unix hardware and software support including O/S patching and full O/S upgrades. Administered IBM P-Series servers running AIX 4.3.3 5.1 and 5.3 and IBM HACMP 4.4.1 clustering.Implemented two IBM P-Series production servers with 6 logical partitions and the successful migration of all Oracle databases and services to new hardware.Developed a manual SQL Server transaction log shipping procedure for SQL Server 2000 standard edition.Carried out replication and separation of all production databases during a company de-merger.

Supported and maintained in excess of 20 instances of Oracle RDBMS versions 7.3.4 and 8.1.7 ranging in size from 30Gb to 170Gb and 40 to over 1000 concurrent users. Installed and maintained Oracle RDBMS software and migrated databases from version 7.3.4 to 8.1.7. Administered IBM NUMA-Q servers running Dynix ptx 4.4.7 - 4.4.10 and Sun E4500 and SF280R servers running Solaris8 plus all Unix hardware and software support including O/S patching and full O/S upgrades.Implemented three production servers (one NUMA-Q 2000, one Sun SF280R and one Sun E4500) from O/S installation and configuration, through testing and benchmarking, to migrating the Oracle RDBMS instances from the old servers for the live switch-over. Ran a share dealing back office system called i2 for three client companies Performed 24/7 support for the i2 share dealing back office application for three stock broking companies including application software releases to client systems and associated version control.
