As the founding engineer of P6 Technologies, I architected and led the development of an innovative platform that calculates carbon emissions and environmental impacts in oil and gas manufacturing, leveraging Life-cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies. In addition to driving the technical vision for the P6 MVP, I established a high-performance engineering team across the U.S. and Latin America to accelerate platform scalability. As a start-up engineering leader, I also managed end-to-end DevOps and cloud infrastructure, ensuring a secure, scalable, and cost-effective environment to support rapid growth. My role encompassed technical planning, resource allocation and hands-on contributions to both front-end and back-end development, allowing the team to move quickly from concept to execution while maintaining high standards of quality and sustainability.

As the Director of Engineering for the ShipEngine go-to-market (GTM) I reported directly to the CTO of Auctane, and led three teams responsible for multiple web-based shipping products, including the ShipEngine Dashboard, a white-label solution for PayPal, and a design system used for multiple products in the Auctane portfolio. During this time I formed a new team to architect and develop a multi-tenant, themable suite of shipping components, reducing the cost for both internal and external ShipEngine consumers to integrate the ShipEngine API into their applications. My responsibilities included architecture of critical applications, strategic direction and goal-setting, collaboration with the GTM and executive leadership team, development of a hiring strategy to grow my teams, collaborating with other engineering and product leadership, setting the technical direction for my teams and mentoring both managers and senior members of my teams.

During my time as Engineering Manager for the ShipEngine Apps team at Auctane, I led a team of 10 engineers through the development and launch of a shipping solution for PayPal (handling shipping label purchases for millions of PayPal users), the ShipEngine Dashboard, and multiple ecosystem integrations. My responsibilities were focused on building and mentoring the team, managing multiple concurrent projects, directing technical implementation of TypeScript / React applications, and implementing an Agile development process.

Led two teams of software engineers through the post- Series A period of growth. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and mentoring engineers of various experience levels, providing technical direction, coordinating efforts with other product leadership, managing the velocity and cadence of development, and prioritization of work. Conducted weekly 1:1s and quarterly 360 reviews with every member of the team, and led daily stand-ups to ensure that engineering efforts were well coordinated.

As the first hire of Y-Combinator backed Rabbet (formerly Contract Simply) I was responsible for developing the initial prototype for the construction lending disbursement product, and leading the development of the current product using Elixir, Python and React to leverage machine learning for classification and processing of disbursement request documentation. During my time at Rabbet I was also responsible for managing our cloud infrastructure and deployment orchestration with Terraform and Kubernetes. Following the launch of the product, Rabbet raised a Series A round led by QED and Goldman Sachs.

I was brought onto the bitPESO team to lead the redesign and redevelopment of the company’s front-end web and mobile applications using React and React Native. The company’s primary mobile application, known internally as the “wallet”, was rebuilt using a unique approach leveraging Lerna and React Native to produce a modular application that can be customized and skinned for niche use-cases and customer needs.

In my role as a Senior Software Developer at Real HQ, I began the company’s transition to using React and other modern front-end technologies by building a system for agents to update Real HQ on the status of the referrals the company had generated for them. During the development of the referral update system and a native mobile application being developed in parallel, I was also responsible for methodically porting features and systems from a monolithic legacy application to a next-gen API built using Ruby on Rails, leveraging Rails Engines to componentize and isolate key features in a way that made it simple to spin up dedicated server instances on-demand to serve them separately, but from a single host application.

As the engineering manager and technical lead for the Experience Builder team, I led an international team of a dozen engineers (between Austin, San Francisco, New York, and Delhi, India) through the development of an exciting new platform powering front-end experiences for Sprinklr’s customers using isomorphic React and Flux. I was responsible for the core architecture of the platform, technical specifications for features to be implemented by my team, and overseeing all technical aspects of the project, including assisting product with estimates for development timeframes.

After being promoted to the Engineering Manager of my team at Get Satisfaction, I was given the opportunity to lead a team of engineers in Austin and San Francisco through the continuing process of rebuilding the consumer-facing application. This position provided me the opportunity to both manage a team of talented engineers as well as keep my hands directly in the code that we were developing. When not focused on development work, a large amount of my time was spent coordinating with project and product managers, the leads engineers of other teams, and executive management to determine product direction, resource allocation, and use of technology.Get Satisfaction was acquired by Sprinklr in April 2015.

As a senior software engineer on the consumer application team at Get Satisfaction, I architected the foundation of the next-generation consumer-facing application. With my background in design, I also helped bridge the gap between design and development resources.
