I received a promotion and an expansion of my responsibilities. I was instrumental in the launch of the OPW PISCES line, a complete underground secondary fuel containment system purchased exclusively from a group of dedicated high-quality suppliers. The PISCES Product line was very successful taking significant market share from the industry leaders. The role of the sourcing team was key to that success.SIGNIFICANT RESULTS AS MATERIALS MANAGER• Managed a supply chain team of seven professionals including three direct reports and four associated professionals. Exceeded corporate goals consistently. • Led a cross-functional team that used root cause analysis to correct inventory inaccuracy. Created procedures that were integrated into OPW culture to reduce inventory shrink by over 90%.• Developed definitions for obsolete and slow moving inventory (OSMI), used by other Dover Companies. Reduced OSMI from $4.4 million to $1.2 million in two years (eventually to $336,000) resulting in a significant improvement in inventory turns.• Custom-tailored supplier stocking programs designed to reduce inventory and improve on-time delivery, including Kan Ban, electronic Kan Ban, Vendor Managed Inventory systems, product demand sheets, and a Supplier Portal. I spent much time initially establishing and developing key sources to allow OPW to grow painlessly.
