Setting up a global EPCM recruiting function across Australia, Canada, South Africa, Brazil, Chile, India, China, Russia, USA comprising of 60 recruiters in 15 major offices. Covering technical recruitment for project and corporate roles. Added internal head hunter capability and dedicated research teams to complement the talent acquisition function. Selected and implemented the applicant tracking software from Kenexa to create one global team from regionally isolated teams of recruiters. Evaluated and rolled out LinkedIn Recruiter capacity across the team. Moved the recruiting from an HR based procurement function to a strategic work force planning activity. Troubleshooter for the recruiting practice with successful interventions in Qld, NSW and South Africa. Managed the setting up of the process to use construction labour from the Philippines for a major project using the POEA and local agents in Manila.

HR Connect was a recruitment agency setup by Hatch and two other Perth based companies to supply technical labour hire to the resource industry in Australia. After 6 years it was sold to a local independent agency. As one of 2 Hatch nominated Directors I attended board meetings as well as providing industry advice to the agency management and other directors. Involved in the remuneration committee, selection of recruiters and recruiting support staff and overseeing the sale process.

Recruitment for both the Perth Design Office, Karratha Construction site and Thailand Fabrication yard EPCM staff for the Hatch component of the Kellogg joint venture team executing the $1.8 billion Train 4 LNG project for the north-west shelf partners led by Woodside in North Western Australia.

Resource coordination of existing staff and recruiting of new EPCM resources for Western Australia on major mineral processing and energy projects includingAlcoa Hatch Engineering Alliance Worsley Alumina Refinery Train 3 expansionEstablished preferred supplier agreements with contractor recruiter vendors.

Responsible for building up a multi disciplined team across various project and up to 6 separate offices with a peak of 250 designers from an initial team of 10.Evaluation of 3D plant design software and selection of PDS for the design office.Setting up a scheme to train young students and experienced trades people to become designers.
