Leading the Technology and Product functions I been responsible for product strategy, team-building, engineering and operations of the company's product & technology platform.Beginning with the execution of early stage R&D pilot projects, my focus has been on the design and build of two scalable high-impact data platform services: Global FieldID and SoilHive, both of which are in active operations.Global FieldID is an industry initiative to solve the interoperability challenges due to the lack of standards regarding field identity. Global FieldID provides an openly accessible registry for the whole agri-food sector, with canonical identifiers and boundary vector polygons for all the world's agricultural fields. The system combines existing open datasets, AI computer vision technologies and B2B crowdsourcing, providing access via API, bulk downloads and a grower-facing editable UI.SoilHive is a groundbreaking repository to make valuable soil data discoverable and accessible, saving time in finding analysis-ready soil data, highlighting spatial data gaps to inform data generation campaigns, and improving AgTech data interoperability.

I was responsible for rationalising and standardising approaches to integration across Enterprise IT, evolving the approach towards a common integration framework across multiple platforms. The eventual target was to evolve the IT organisation towards a holistic Data Fabric approach.My duties included:* defining integration policy and principles* maintaining a library of design patterns * architecture governance via Design Authorities* solution architecture for Enterprise APIs and Integration Platforms* advancing maturity in data architecture and security architectureIn particular I focused on defining a modular framework for integrating data at scale by combining modern event-driven architecture and messaging (Evented APIs), traditional on-demand APIs, CQRS, and graph data architecture. A key objective of this architecture is to automate the integration pipeline, using data model- and contract-first development and configuration over code.

Acted as owner of Arm's Open API shared platform, leading a team of architects, developers and platform engineers in the development and operation of platform infrastructure, developer enablement, API development and support.The teams collaborate with other teams across Arm's technology and business groups to connect new and existing systems in a manner that promotes re-use. The aim is to use the platform to improve the experience of our employees, improve efficiency and agility, and open up new channels for delivering ARM's IP to its customers.

Agrimetrics is a high-tech/science company that specialises in helping agri-food organisations share, access and use data. My primary responsibility is to oversee the development and operation of the company's big data semantic technology platform, which underpins its major activities. The platform is a highly-available, scalable and secure distributed system capable of serving a global external userbase. It sources, integrates and pipelines data in a cloud-based and continuously deployable architecture. I am also responsible for the delivery of a variety of software products and solutions including APIs for third party developers, user interfaces, and analytics insights for end users.I represent the technical aspects of the company within the management team - defining strategy and leading delivery through a team of internal and outsourced developers, architects, data scientists and devops specialists. A significant part of my time is spent engaging with external clients and prospective partners, to communicate Agrimetrics' vision for the future of agri tech and to explore new opportunities.

ELIXIR is a pan-European research infrastructure for life science data, and is building a sustainable distributed infrastructure for safeguarding and improving access to research data.As the Data Coordinator at the ELIXIR Hub I was primarily focussed on establishing an architecture for distributing data at scale to national ELIXIR nodes and cloud centres. I carried out technical coordination and strategy development, engaging with partners across ELIXIR's member states and within the Horizon 2020 projects EXCELERATE and CORBEL.
