I am the co-founder and CEO of Relational Hub an innovative youth and community work charity that was birthed in Leatherhead, Surrey. Employed by Leatherhead Youth Project from January 2005, I established a work that is now regarded to be amongst the best in the county by many including Surrey County Council, 14-19 Network and Surrey Police. LYP works with over 150 young people a month from one of the most deprived wards in Surrey. From an employed team of one LYP has now grown to six paid employees and dozens of volunteers. LYP's approach at its core is about relationship, through the relational hub - BFree Youth Cafe, LYP build strong trust and respect between our workers, young people and our community. LYP then Co-produce projects that look to give young people new opportunities and skills.My Key successes to date are:- delivering a youth project that successfully attracts the most hard to reach young people in our community day after day.- building an energised team of staff, volunteers and partners who contribute to our vision and purpose.- mentoring and encouraging young people into leadership roles within our organisation & community.- I am a trusted and respected community leader, sitting on many Community groups and panels including LCP, LSP and CIAG in which I make positive, productive and leading contributions. - our work has been awarded grants from funders such as Comic Relief, Children In Need, The Wates Foundation, Exxon Mobile, Awards for All, Surrey Police, Garfield Weston Foundation, Surrey County Council CIF, MVDC and many more. - awarded The LPF Contract for North Mole Valley in 2012 by SCC.- played the leading role in establishing The Link Alternative Learning Centre at BFree Youth Cafe. working with local head and deputy head teachers.- started a social enterprise called AllSaints Coffee in BFree Youth Cafe, giving young people new skills and opportunities at barista and management level.
