Since 2015, Andy Klein has worked for American Alarm & Communications, Inc. (AACI) as a commercial security system and fire alarm consultant.Andy came to AACI as a customer. In 2014 Andy joined the team at Weetabix in Clinton, Massachusetts as the Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist. Some of his responsibilities included managing the fire alarm, access control, and security cameras throughout the Weetabix Cameron and Green Street plants and Sterling warehouse. In the execution of those duties, he formed a bond and friendship with his systems consultant from AACI, David Oles.Today David and Andy are partners. Together, they act as the primary commercial consultants from the American Alarm office in Auburn, Massachusetts. While they are in Central Massachusetts, they have had the pleasure on working on projects on the Cape, Boston, North Shore, and the Berkshires. Furthermore, Andy found his way into the role of national account specialist. He has now helped customers install and manage security systems in well over 30 states ranging from California, Michigan, Florida, Texas, New York, New Jersey, and the list goes on.In 2016, Andy and David had the pleasure of entering the cannabis industry as a security consultant. As of December 2021, well over 100 sites are operating with security systems Andy and David designed, and their installation teams installed. Andy finds the cannabis industry to be both fun and truly fascinating. Surrounded by entrepreneurs and developers seeking to stake their claim to their slice of the market has been fun and has required constant work. It is one thing to be a vendor to the industry – it is another to be an active participant and advocate.Andy truly believes his career has meandered its way to this point with a purpose. Protecting people has been his mission since enlisting in the United States Coast Guard Reserves in 2006 – four rewarding years later he exited as a boatswain’s mate at a station primarily focused on search and rescue. From there he was in the hazardous materials industry where he climbed the ladders from truck driver to project manager, to lab safety and labpack specialist. Then it was onto the engineering world where he was an environmental, health, and safety consultant and trainer.Along the way he also picked up volunteer pursuits like being a local coordinator for Team Rubicon doing disaster relief and community service. Andy spent a couple of years as a call/volunteer firefighter, learning skills he uses even today.
